Concerts en 2006

En venant à Londres en début d'année 2006, il était évident que j'allais profiter au maximum de la phénoménale quantité/qualité des concerts de la capitale anglaise, certainement la meilleure ville du monde pour la musique. Mais j'avoue que je ne m'attendais pas à devenir autant accro, au point d'en abuser presque (mais on peut abuser des bonnes choses, il n'y a pas de mal n'est ce pas !). Il y a tellement de groupes ou artistes à voir qu'on ne sait plus où donner de la tête. En fait, tous les soirs, il doit bien y avoir au moins deux concerts d'intéressant ! En faisant le bilan en cette fin d'année, je me suis apercu que j'ai tout de même vu 56 concerts et 130 groupes/artistes différents ! Voici un petit récapitulatif chronologique...

Parmi les meilleurs souvenirs, je dirais Adam Green, The Strokes, Muse et le concert mémorable de Dirty Pretty Things à la Proud Gallery, sans compter les festivals (ah Radiohead et Beck...).
Howling Bells, Art Brut et Beirut se sont bien débrouillés aussi. Je rajouterai pour finir The Good The Bad And The Queen, The Rakes, Ben Harper et bien sûr les incontournables Franz Ferdinand et The Decemberists. Bref, il y a eu beaucoup de bons trucs...

Pour ce qui est des découvertes de petis groupes que je ne connaissais pas au moment où je les ai vu, j'ai beaucoup aimé The 1990's et Scissors for Lefty.

Enfin, niveau déception live, The Shins et The Dead 60's n'ont pas été à la hauteur.

Ca a été calme en décembre, ce le sera encore en janvier 2007, par contre février s'annonce comme un mois très très chargé avec notamment Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Bloc Party, Regina Spektor, The Rapture et bien d'autres de prévus...
